2.6 Catalog conversion
Conversion of existing user catalog to the current database format
To ensure faster processing and speed when working with catalogs, your 3D catalog files should be adapted to the database format of the current version.
It is possible to import older catalogs without prior conversion, but these must then be converted at runtime each time they are imported, which has a negative impact on cadwork's performance.
The standard catalogs supplied by cadwork are already installed in the current version; your own catalog files must be saved in the new format using the cadwork 3d converter.
Attention!
You should only convert your catalogs once all workstations in the organization have been converted to the current version. The converted catalogs can no longer be used directly for older versions!
- Once the converter has been started, a folder with catalog files can be defined. By default, all *.3dc and *.3d files in the specified folder and its subfolders are then displayed and activated for conversion.
- If the backup is active, additional backup files of the converted elements are retained.
Please note that this approximately doubles the required storage space of the directory! - The Save all and Convert all options can be used to quickly activate or deactivate all files. Individual files can be selected or deselected using the checkbox under "S" or "C ". For most cases you should leave all files selected.
- Clicking on Convert starts the conversion of the selected files, clicking on Delete resets the selection completely.
- The progress is logged in the lower area. The checkbox next to " F " (Finish) is set for files that have already been processed. Depending on the selected folder and number of catalog files, the conversion may take some time.
