3.6 Storey Manager
The Storey manager is used to structure the project. Buildings and associated Storeys can be created in the Storey manager. The BIM manager can be used to control Buildings and Storey assignments within cadwork. From version 27, the Storey / BIM manager is used instead of the previous storey structure via the group. The tool enables a clear, structured organization of Storeys and the associated components.
The Storey manager or BIM manager can either be docked to the left or right menu or used as an individual window.
The Storey manager can be opened via Window --> BIM manager, or by clicking on the "Storey/BIM manager" button in the top status bar.
The Storey
A Storey is the entirety of all rooms in a Building that are on one access level and are connected horizontally. It is possible for a Storey to have height differences. However, the decisive factor is that the rooms are connected horizontally. The term is used today regardless of the type of building construction.
Wikipedia
Many CAD software programs require defined heights in addition to the storey structure. The heights can therefore be defined in the storey settings. In accordance with IFC, the height is always to be seen as the upper edge of the unfinished floor (as attribute IfcBuildingstorey: Elevation).
A storey comprises the ceiling and the components "on top" of it (walls, columns, etc.).
